Women in Tourism Storytelling Campaign
The Campaign
‘She Matters‘ shines a spotlight on the many career paths open to women in Sri Lanka’s tourism industry. Through real stories from women working across hospitality, the campaign challenges stereotypes and shows that tourism offers rewarding careers at every level.
A Collaborative Initiative
This campaign is led by the Sri Lanka Tourism Alliance, in partnership with Australia’s Market Development Facility (MDF), building on insights from the Women in Tourism study. Together, they celebrate women who are already shaping the industry and inspire others to follow.
Background
‘She Matters’ is rooted in joint research by the Tourism Alliance and MDF, which identified key barriers holding women back, from low awareness to social perceptions and skills gaps. Moving beyond research, this phase turns insight into action by opening doors and creating real opportunities for women in tourism.
