19th August, 2020 News and Updates

UNWTO has collaborated with the ONCE Foundation of Spain and the European Network for Accessible Tourism (ENAT), to introduce new guidelines to promote accessibility and inclusivity as tourism slowly begins to restart post the COVID-19 pandemic. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General, UNWTO stated that while much work has been done to make tourism accessible to all it is important to ensure that the progress made in this space is maintained and even stepped up as tourism restarts. The guidelines address different stakeholders working across the whole tourism value chain and cover four areas namely travel planning and protocols, transportation, accommodation, bars and restaurants and tourist activities.
