The Expansion of the Bandaranaike International Airport to be Fast Tracked
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has instructed officials that the extension of Bandaranaike International Airport worth LKR 108 billion is required to be completed before the end of 2023.
Basil Rajapaksa, Head of the Presidential Task Force on Economic Revival also further stated that the expansion would be developed as a “Smart Terminal” which would match the standards of technology that would be available in the year 2023, the expansion has been designed with an inclusion of an e-gate facility to ensure a smooth and efficient service is provided to all passengers.
