New Financial Assistance Scheme to be Introduced to Tourism SMEs

With many Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) facing difficult times amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Finance Ministry has decided to introduce a financial assistance scheme to small and medium enterprises. The new scheme will provide assistance ranging from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 10 million to small and medium enterprises including those in the tourism industry stated Geetha Wimalaweera, Director General, Finance Ministry Development Finance Department during a meeting held with tourism industry stakeholders. This support will be provided in addition to the Saubhagya COVID-19 Renaissance Loan Scheme.
