Financial Support for the Tourism Sector to be Extended Till 31 December 2021
Prasanna Ranatunga, Tourism Minister during a meeting held with industry stakeholders confirmed that a request has been made to the government to further extend the support given to the tourism industry till 31st December in the wake of the ongoing COVID -19 pandemic. He further stated that the tourism sector has been one of the hardest hit sectors due to the pandemic and even though the country has now reopened its borders for foreign visitors, further support in the form of working capital has been requested by those in the industry.
