Government Plans to Incentivise International Airlines Operating Out of MRIA Mattala

Prasanna Ranatunga, Tourism Minister has confirmed that the government has proposed a special relief package targeting international airlines to operate out of Mahinda Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA), Mattala.

Proposed concessions include waiving off the Airport Emigration Tax of USD 60 and landing charges and parking fees for two years and four years from the date of commencement of operations respectively.

A Cabinet paper in this regard is also expected to be submitted shortly.
