BIA and Port Authorities Takes Preventive Methods to Restrict Entry for Employees in Curfew Generated Areas

The Airport and the Port Authorities have made a decision to restrict the entry of employees in lockdown areas whilst banning outsiders from entering the duty-free shopping area at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

This decision was taken as a preventive measure after the identification of 2 new Covid-19 infected persons in the Gampaha District. Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga stated that the Airport will not be closed and any further decisions on departure and arrival terminals will be taken by the National Operation Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPO) along with the health authorities.
