Lishali - Jetwing
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you do at work?
My name is Lishani Jayamini, I am 30 years old. I joined Jetwing Kaduruketha on 16th December 2023 as an Assistant Butler.
Earlier, I worked as a typist. I am married and have a 5-year-old son. At the hotel, I handle guests from arrival to departure and make sure they are comfortable during their stay.
2. Could you tell us how your job has impacted your family’s life?
This job has helped my family a lot because my home is only 200 meters from the hotel. It is very convenient for me, especially because I have a small child and can spend more time with him.
I also save money because I do not have transport or food expenses. Now I can support my husband financially, help my parents, and manage our family income better.
3. What does financial independence mean to you?
As a woman, financial independence means being able to support my family and build our future together.
When I earn my own income, we do not have to depend only on my husband. We can plan our life, support each other, and grow as a family.
4. How do you handle interactions with international guests, and what training have you received?
When I joined the hotel, I had no experience in the hospitality industry. But my hotel supported me with continuous training.
I have received training in guest service, personal development, professional skills, and English. Now I can confidently handle international guests and communicate better every day.
5. Looking ahead, what are your dreams or goals in this industry?
My dream is to become an Executive in the hotel industry. I strongly believe that with hard work and learning, I can achieve this goal one day
